We are very happy to welcome you to the annual New Year’s retreat. We are confident that the retreat can finally take place again this year and are very much looking forward to it! Here you will find all important information about the retreat and you can register yourself if you wish to attend.
This year our New Year’s Retreat will take place from the 29th of December 2022 to the 3th of January 2023 once again in beautiful Brother Klaus House in Flüeli, Switzerland. If you like to be part of the preparation crew, you can arrive on the 28th December.
If we have to cancel the retreat due to measures, you will get your money refunded. Right now there are no measures! You find the latest status here: https://www.sem.admin.ch

SCHEDULE
The schedule will be filled with variation and allow time for leisure:
- Morning and evening meditation
- Outings in nature
- Creative and spiritual workshops
- Preparing vegetarian food together
- New Year’s ceremony and New Year’s party
- Music, dancing, games
- children’s programme
PLEASE NOTE
- We encourage you to attend the whole retreat if its possible. This can help to increase the feeling of spiritual community. However it’s possible to stay for only three or four nights. Please choose the wished option while registering.
- There are currently living ukrainian refugees in one part of the building so that we can only offer about 50 beds. But there is still the possibility to take care of your own accommodation – you can rent apartments and rooms in Flüeli (but somewhat more expensive and the best is to ask soon for the acommodations).
- We would like to ask you to pay the retreat fee by 1st December at the latest.
- If you need to cancel your booking close to arrival we have to charge you. The reason is that we have to pay for the accommodation and the food in advance, which means that we will have expenses even if you can’t make it in the end. If you cancel after the 15th of December 50% of the retreat fee is charged and after the 22th of December 80%. We ask for your understanding!
- If you would like to help with the installations, you are very welcome to arrive on the 28th of December.

Rooms can also be requested at the center-Ranft: https://zentrumranft.ch/unsere_hauser/zimmer-online-buchen/. When booking, please mention that you are from Youth of golden Age. The costs are between 120€ and 160€ per night.

FAQ
What is the New Year’s retreat?
The New Year’s retreat is the main Youth of Golden Age get-together of the year. Since more than 20 years we are celebrating the turn of the year with a week of collective spiritual activities.
During the retreat we do activities together, meditate and practice Yoga techniques according to the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Our goal is to combine things of the world with spirituality, to take care of friends, to inspire one another and to celebrate the New year in a very special way.
Can I participate at the New Year’s retreat even if I’m older than 40 or 50 years?
Yes! To the events of the Y.O.G.A. everyone is invited who feels attracted to the settings and is or feels young.
Can I stay in a single-/ family room?
In the youth hostel there are dorms with 3 to 10 beds and plenty of extra mattresses. This unfortunately means that we can’t offer you any single rooms. As usual we will try to prepare family rooms. However there is the possibility that you will have to share it with another family.
Can I attend for only one or two nights?
In order to maintain some group atmosphere you should stay at least for 3 nights.
How much do I need to pay if I stay for less than 5 nights? Or arrive already on the 28th?
The prices will be reduced by the accomodation and food costs. The prices are listed where you pay for the retreat.
If you arrive on the 28th in order to help out with the installations, you will have to pay for the accommodation, but you will get the food for free on that day. Please choose the additional night as well as the normal booking fee while paying if you want this option.
Do I need to nourish myself if I have a food intolerance?
No, we will take your needs into consideration while preparing the meals. Please enter your eating habits while registering for the retreat. If necessary you may have to explain things about the special nourishments to the cooking team during the retreat.
